Hai Robotics, ULMA and Instalux Achieve Milestone success with COSGRA Project, Setting New Standards in Warehouse Automation
COSGRA, a leading provider of industrial solutions specializing in electric motors, power transmission systems, and mechanical seals, operates from their facility in Girona, Spain. Facing increasing demand, COSGRA has partnered with ULMA Handling Systems, Instalux Soniger and Hai Robotics to modernize its intralogistics operations with innovative robotics goods-to-person technology. The project aims to optimize storage capacity, enhance operational efficiency, and future-proof COSGRA’s logistics infrastructure to meet their growing business demands.
Meeting Today’s Intralogistics Challenges at COSGRA
Recognizing the need to modernize its logistics processes, COSGRA sought a reliable solution that could handle its extensive inventory. Partnering with ULMA Handling Systems and Instalux Soniger, COSGRA deployed Hai Robotics’ innovative Autonomous Case-handling Robotics (ACR) system to maximize efficiency and leverage its warehouse space to the fullest.
Key elements of the project include:
- Advanced Robotics Deployment: Three HAIPICK A42TD-G-E1 telescopic, double-deep robots were deployed to maximize vertical and horizontal storage while ensuring cost efficiency.
The Double-deep Fork reduces aisle area by 50% while increasing storage density.
- Streamlined Operations: A conveyor-supported station, designed by ULMA, enables direct robot interfacing, delivering an efficient and robust solution tailored to COSGRA’s operational requirements.
- Tailored Racking Solutions: The storage system includes customized racking solutions designed and installed by Instalux Soniger, ensuring compatibility with Hai Robotics’ ACR system and maximizing warehouse capacity.
- Custom Tote Handling: The solution accommodates COSGRA’s specific tote dimensions - 600x400x120 mm, optimizing storage density and system functionality.
- Seamless Integration: Hai Robotics’ ESS GreyBox system seamlessly integrates with COSGRA’s and ULMA’s systems, ensuring smooth communication and operational harmony.
