Elevating Logistics for the Future with Hai Robotics at TME
TME’s logistics center in Rzgów, operational since 2021, was designed with a forward-looking vision. From the outset, plans were made to expand and automate operations, targeting 60% automation across all processes. Partnering with Hai Robotics and implementing the HaiPick System 1 has been a pivotal step in realizing this vision, transforming the logistics landscape for TME and addressing the increasing complexities of modern supply chains.
Addressing Modern Logistics Challenges
As a global distributor, TME faces significant pressures to deliver flexibility, scalability, and high throughput in its operations. Managing a catalog of over 150,000 SKUs and processing more than 30,000 order lines daily demands robust solutions to optimize storage, streamline processes, and ensure accuracy. The existing infrastructure, while functional, required upgrades to handle the rapidly increasing demand.
To meet these challenges, TME identified key objectives: expanding its high-storage capabilities, enhancing transport infrastructure, and seamlessly integrating automated and manual dispensing operations. Robots capable of reaching up to 10 meters in vertical storage were integrated, with plans to introduce advanced models that can utilize rack space between 10 and 12 meters. These enhancements ensure not only higher storage density but also greater operational efficiency.
Transforming TME’s Logistics Center in Rzgów
The logistics center in Rzgów has been at the forefront of innovation since its inception. To overcome these challenges, TME partnered with Hai Robotics to implement the HaiPick System 1. With nearly 120 robots, including 80 HaiPick Autonomous Case-handling Robots (ACRs), TME’s logistics center now combines advanced robotics and flexible storage systems to deliver unparalleled performance.
-
Optimized Storage Capacity: The changes made and the expanded stacking machines will allow the center to create 56,166 storage locations that can ultimately store two totes per location, leading to a doubled capacity within an area of about 2,400m².
-
High Throughput: Capable of processing 2,400 totes per hour, the automation setup effectively supports up to 5,000 orders with 30,000 order lines daily.
-
Adaptable Infrastructure: Spanning 3,000 m² with a 12.5-meter clear height, the system includes robots capable of reaching up to 10 meters, with plans to extend to 12 meters as future needs arise.
-
Enhanced Conveyor Network: An additional 1.2 km of conveyors streamline material transport and improve overall efficiency.
These advancements allow TME to handle larger volumes of inventory while maintaining speed and accuracy in order fulfillment. By seamlessly integrating automation, TME can expand its product assortment, shorten order processing times, and elevate customer experience.
Scalable Solutions for a Dynamic Future
Hai Robotics designed the system not only to meet TME’s current operational needs but also to adapt to future growth. With future-ready scalability at its core, the solution allows for phased extensions to accommodate increased storage volumes and an expanding product catalog. The system’s agility ensures TME can maintain high throughput, reduce order processing times, and continually enhance product availability to meet the evolving demands of the logistics industry.
