Sundan is a leading retailer specializing in home appliances, including mobile phones, computers, and digital cameras. By prioritizing customer-centric service, Sundan has emerged as a strong player in the competitive market dominated by price wars. As the company expanded, Sundan aimed to integrate smart, efficient logistics within its national distribution center in Dongguan to streamline its e-commerce and brick-and-mortar operations, providing superior service to consumers.
The Dongguan national warehouse faced challenges in handling orders for both physical stores and e-commerce platforms, necessitating a more efficient warehousing solution to enhance the speed of stock movements.
Recognizing smart warehousing as crucial, Sundan decided to partner with Hai Robotics, renowned for their expertise in intelligent warehousing transformations.
Through integration with Hengyan, Sundan introduced Hai Robotics' HaiPick System 3 in its Dongguan warehouse to revolutionize its retail operations and service experience. The chosen solution involved HaiPick System 3, a sophisticated amalgamation of ACR, AMR, and the HaiQ smart warehouse management platform, including shelves, totes, and workstations. The dual ACR+AMR collaboration enabled flexible handling of diverse order types in a shared workspace.

E-commerce Orders:
Typically from individual consumers and often comprising single items, e-commerce orders previously suffered inefficiencies during manual pickup processes. With HaiPick system 3, each workstation can process up to 350 totes per hour. AMRs handle one tote at a time, optimizing multi-pick task operations and efficiently speeding order fulfillment.

Store Orders:
Characterized by numerous products and diverse SKUs, store orders were revamped by comprehensive picking wall systems—each slot corresponding to one store order. On completing the picking process, the order boxes are dispatched directly to stores.

Express Delivery Orders:
With business growth, express service requests, primarily through JD and Meituan, demanded rapid fulfillment—orders needed processing within 15 minutes. The initial design faced capacity strain during peak demand. Cooperation between Hengyan and Hai Robotics led to optimization of system priorities and the synchronization algorithms for ACR and AMR, leading to an 85% efficiency increase, fulfilling 289 totes per hour without additional equipment, meeting peak express delivery demands.

Dense SKU Storage Revolutionizes Sundan's Operational Model:
Within this innovative system, ACRs handle the placement and management of targeted totes, while AMRs manage inbound and outbound logistics. By exploiting vertical space via bridge racks deployed in aisles over 5.8 meters, the warehouse's space utility and storage capacity increased significantly.
Presently, with 9-meter tall racks, the facility accommodates 18 totes per square meter, allowing storage of 150,000 items across nearly 5,000 SKUs, meeting diverse product storage needs efficiently.

Empowered by HaiPick System 3, the 950-square-meter facility now dispatches over 1,000 orders daily, covering more than 5,000 items, fulfilling the replenishment demand of Sundan’s over 40 stores in 12 cities. Consumers can receive their products, packaged and dispatched from the warehouse within 15 minutes, anytime they order.
